Residents of Morris Green have organised themselves to challenge the recent planning permission granted for change of use of the Middle Hulton Police Station to a Muslim Community Centre.
The residents have been granted Legal Aid to have a judicial review carried out on the decision by Bolton Councils Planning Committee who approved the scheme.
The residents main objections are inappropriate use of the facility and road safety, i.e. the lack of parking.
Commenting Cllr Andy Morgan said âWe supported the residents in their opposition of the original application and we will continue to oppose the scheme and represent their views during the judicial review process. The fact that they have been granted Legal Aid means there must be some chance of winning the Review.â
