Congestion Charge - The choice is yours!

The date for the vote on the Congestion Charge has been set.  Postal ballots will be sent out at the end of Nov (to be returned by 11th Dec) with the count taking place on the 12th Dec.  If supported Greater Manchester could see £3billion worth of transport infrastructure improvements, funded by a congestion charge.

Commenting Cllr Alan Walsh said “The whole process has been an exercise in smoke and mirrors.  Of course if someone was asked if they want £3 billion of investment in our area they would say yes but the fact is we are being conned.  Most of the improvements that Bolton would receive have previously been approved and we would actually get very little new investment.  The fact is we should already be getting decent standards of roads and public transport, that is what we pay our council tax for.”
