During the past financial year funds were awarded by your Area Forums to buy reflective armbands for distribution to Infant pupils across the Ward (Year 1 & 2 and Reception Class)
Around 1100 sets will be distributed during October and November across the 9 primary schools located in Hulton & Heaton and Lostock Wards.
The armbands will be distributed at the schools with a Road Safety talk by our Community PCSOs, School Safety Officers and your Ward Councillors.
Cllr Andy Morgan commenting said "The armbands are being distributed in time for the long winter nights and will contribute considerably to the road safety of the children in our reception classes. I along with my ward collegues are looking forward to meeting as many of them as possible during the coming months."
The armbands were approved and funded at an Area Forum Meeting. Area Forum meetings are held 3 monthly and are a chance for you to influence council priorities and spending. A limited amount of funding is available locally for community schemes and projects and this is a prime example of a little money going a long way to support our childrenâÂÂs safety.
