
The council submitted the Core Strategy to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government for independent examination on 7th May 2010. A Planning Inspector will be appointed to assess the document for soundness and legal compliance.
The Core Strategy was published in January 2010 and a period for representation took place from 18th January to 5th March. The Core Strategy is the key document that sets out the general principles and strategic direction for the development of the borough up to 2026 (which obviously includes proposals for Cutacre).
Information on the Core Strategy, including post-publication suggested changes and supporting documents will be posted on Bolton Council’s website www.bolton.gov.uk/corestrategy.
Details of the dates and locations of the public examination hearings will also be available online as they become available.
The Core Strategy and related documents can be inspected at the “One Stop Shop” (Bolton Town Hall, Westhoughton Town Hall, Horwich Public Hall, Farnworth Town all and all public Libraries.
