Cllr Andy Morgan, Hulton Councillor, today added his concerns about the welfare and safety of Bolton resident Baboo Zanghar. Mr Zanghar was on board the flotilla which was trying to deliver aid to Gaza residents when it was boarded by the Israeli navy.
Cllr Morgan said “I understand that Baboo was trying to deliver aid donated by Bolton people. I am more than a little concerned that no one has been able to contact him to confirm he is safe and well. I am sure I speak on behalf of many Bolton residents in wishing him a safe and speedy return to Bolton. Our thoughts and prayers are with Baboo and his family and friends at this very difficult time."
Commenting further Andy added “I know Mr Zanghar was a key organiser for the previous road convoy to Gaza in which he and 20 others drivers from Bolton took part. I am told this aid, again much of it donated by Bolton people, was greatly received by the residents of Gaza. The bottom line is there is a clear need for Israel to act with restraint and in line with international obligations."
