
Over Hulton Residents will soon be enjoying a fully refurbished play area at Umberton Park. Hulton Ward Councillors have secured £85,000 to fully refurbish the Park.
Commenting Cllr Andy Morgan said “We have been trying to secure funding for the play area for some considerable time and we are pleased that the scheme has been given the go ahead and will be completed within the next few weeks.”
The scheme will include the removal of the existing equipment and installation 6 pieces of equipment including climbing frames, balance equipment and modern swings. The work will also see the flooring to the play area relayed with soft safety flooring .
Cllr Alan Walsh added “We are grateful to the Executive Member and staff in the Green Space department for putting together such a high quality scheme so quickly to allow us to make us of available funds.”
Residents raised the issued of Umberton park at the Area Forum meeting and since then your Councillors have been looking at ways to secure the funding to get the work completed. The scheme will be funded by Area funds and a grant from the Green Space budgets.
The play area will be located in exactly the same position at the current facility.
The work is expected to be started at the end of May and be completed within 3 to 4 weeks ready for the summer.
