St Helens Road resurfacing update

In our last "Intouch" leaflet we advised that carriageway resurfacing works were due to commence on St Helens Road (between Hulton Lane and Deane Church Lane) on Monday 15th February 2010.

Unfortunately this date has now been delayed due to the impact of the bad weather experienced at the start of the year.

Commenting Cllr Andy Morgan said “After the bad weather at the beginning of the year our Highways Inspectors had to reschedule some schemes to allow them to do emergency repairs on some other roads in the borough.  That said we can advise that the works are now due to commence at the beginning of May (still ahead of schedule) and of course I would like to apologise for the slight delay.”

The works are expected to take approximately four weeks to complete during which time temporary traffic signals will be in operation between 9:15am and 16:30.  Residents are advised to expect some delays but it is hoped they will be kept to a minimum.  Residents are respectfully asked to be patient while the work is in progress.
