Conservatives’ Tickets for Troops Campaign

David Cameron recently announced the Conservatives’ Tickets for Troops Campaign.  Commenting David said “‘What we need is the whole country to come together and think what more we can do to recognise, thank and celebrate what the Armed Forces do for us. If I was Prime Minister the Government would do its bit – we have said that we would have a Manifesto for Forces Families. But we also need a ‘call to arms’ to the rest of the country to celebrate what they do for us and make them feel welcome when they return from the front line.”

“One really good proposal that we will be driving through is Tickets for Troops. We will be asking major venues, clubs and businesses to make available tickets for serving troops”.

So far Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Simon Cowell, Frank Warren, O2, Surrey County Cricket Club, Wigan Athletic, Universal Music Group, British Athletics; and they have all agreed to make tickets available. We would also do our bit with the Olympics and make sure there are tickets set aside.

Commenting Cllr Andy Morgan, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Bolton South East, said “This is a really exciting initiative and a good way for society to come together and say thank you to our men and women who so courageously serve in our Armed Forces.  It’s a simple idea that demonstrates to our troops that we respect them and understand the sacrifice they are making for us. I hope it is a campaign that others will take up”.

Details of how to apply for the tickets will be announced shortly.
