Residents of Over Hulton have set up their own Residents Group in a bid to channel ideas for the area and access grants for the benefit of everyone.
The Area Forum has already granted £500 to the Group to set itself up and an additional £5000 has been provided by the Youth Service for additional youth provision in the area.
Cllr Phil Ashcroft said This is certainly the way forward and will allow us, with the residents, to access money that was previously unavailable.
Cllr Andy Morgan added We (your ward councillors) are really looking forward to working with the residents group for the benefit of all the residents of Over Hulton, both young and old.
Cllr Alan Walsh, who is on the Groups Committee, said "The Group now has a strong Committee in place, including a sub-committee specifically made up of and for the Youth of the area. The group already have a list of issues and topics that they would like to address and are also hoping to organise activities and trips to enahance what is already available in Over Hulton.''
