Residents will be aware that much work has taken place at Four Lane Ends in respect of providing phased pedestrian crossing points at the Junction.
Road Surveys have been carried out and conclusions made by Council
Officers that any change in the phasing of the lights to provide pedestrian crossing opportunities would result in further delays to traffic. Residents were asked to vote at the last Area Forum as to whether to progress this issue with the Highways Team.
Commenting Cllr Alan Walsh said The whole process has taken some time and the recommendations are not exactly what we wanted to hear but the residents have voted to pursue this issue. We have therefore asked the Highways Team to consider its implementation but we have been told it will not be a priority for funding as the recommendations were not to implement the scheme and the accident statistics do not support its implementation. We will continue to monitor this on behalf of local residents.
