Residents in Bolton have expressed their disappointment with the failure of the Labour candidates to turn up for an important election debate. Many local people have said they want to know more about the policies and issues ahead of Thursdays elections and they were hoping that a special programme by the BBC would allow all the main parties to answer their questions during a phone-in.
In a shock move, Labour refused to take part, leaving the other main parties to speak to residents from across the region. Cllr Andy Morgan, Parlimentary Candidate for Bolton South East at the next General Election, said With so much wrong with our political system at the moment, its more important than ever that candidates and politicians get out and talk with the community. Sadly, it seems Labour no longer wants to listen.
